Expectations and Assignments:  This course will use a variety of assessments in order to evaluate the student.  Each student is expected to keep an interactive notebook with, notes, homework, and quizzes/tests.  There will also be individual and group projects.  Homework will be assigned on an as needed basis.

Grades are weighted by the following scale as determined by the Science Department:

1.         Try.

2.         Ask Questions.

3.         Be Honest.

4.         Be Respectful

5.         Turn in ALL work.  NO BLANKS!  Missing assignments are UNACCEPTABLE!

6.         NO food, drink or gum in the lab!

You are expected to get your missing work from the absent folder.   You will have one day to make up work for each day missed (Example: 2 days missing, 2 days to get your work in!).  After this, work will be docked 10% for each day late.

In addition to signing the safety contract, you will take a safety test.  You must pass with a 90% to participate in labs.  With that said, if you pose a threat to yourself or others at any time during a lab, you will lose lab privileges and be given an alternate assignment for the lab points and reports.

1.         Verbal Warning

2.         Call/Email home

3.         Referral to office.

Time is quickly approaching where I would love to have some volunteers in our classroom!  I am looking for those who would like to help with:

    Mousetrap cars

Egg cars (go a distance fast and stop before they hit a wall!)

Electric houses (wiring shoeboxes with various circuits including switiches)

Volunteers will need to fill out a form in the office and be fingerprinted at our Board of Education office (no charge!).  Please let me know if you are willing to help or have questions.  Thank you!
