How Do I Install a Printer on My Computer?
This page is intended for Hillsboro City Schools staff as a step by step guide through the simple process of installing a printer on a school computer.
Printer installation is very simple, but can only be done by a staff member, and only when logged into the Novell Network at school. Students do not have install rights on the machines, so if you need students to print to a specific printer, a staff member must first install the printer.
To Install a printer:
1. Make sure you are at school and logged into the Novell network.
2. Using the buttons at the left, or the links below, select the location that best fits where you will be printing.

3. After clicking the link, look through the list that opens and find the printer you need to install.
4. Click on the printer's name.
5. In the dialog box that opens:

- Check the "Set as default" box if this is the printer you print to most often.
- Click the yes button
6. Wait for the dialog box that indicates the printer has been installed.
You are now ready to print.
Note: If you are installing the printer on a student computer, have one student (any student) set the printer as the default,. It will then be the default printer for all students.
