They will be attending the Greenacres Foundationin Indian Hill to explore ponds, life cycles and water quality.

April 23th

3rd Grade Field Trip (Session Two)

Donley/Quallen/Cornele

They will be attending the Greenacres Foundationin Indian Hill to explore ponds, life cycles and water quality.

May 2nd

You and Me Spring Fling Dance

5-7pm

Hillsboro Elementary

Father/Daughter, Mother/Son, Uncle/Niece, Aunt/Nephew, Big Brother/Lil' Sis...it's a special dance for your child(ren) and their special date!

$12 per Adult w/Child(ren)

       Additional Children $6.00

Price includes entry to dance and meal provided by Bibs & Ribs BBQ

Cash Only. Money and form due: April 14th

Make it a memorable night and dress up!!!

May 4th

Half of our 5th Grade students will be attending Camp Joy. (Ulmer, Tomko, Wagner, Campbell & Albert)

May 5th

Kindergarten Field Trip

Kindergarten students will have the opportunity to see and come face to face with some of the farm animals that the FFA students raise. Lunch will also be provided.

PLEASE--NO Flip Flops!!! Please dress your child in comfortable clothing with gym shoes.

If your child burns easily, please put sun screen on him/her before they leave your home. They will be outside most of the day.

May 6th

The second half of our 5th Grade students will be attending Camp Joy. (Hatfield, Koller, Thoroman & Butler)

The first group will be returning to the school around 1:45 to be picked up.

May 7th

 

Annual Parent Involvement Meeting at 9:00 am at Hillsboro Elementary. This meeting will cover district policy and building plans. All parents are welcome to attend.

 

May 11-15

Right to Read Week 

This years theme is Space.

Grade level teachers will be planning activities for this week. Look for information from your child’s teacher.

 

 

May 12

Preschool Graduation 6:00 in Cafe' B.

May 14th

SCOL Art Exhibit Approaching

 

The Visual Arts Department at Hillsboro High School is hosting this year’s SCOL Art Exhibit: A Stroke of Genius on April 18 from noon to 4:00. The show will be judged from 10am to noon and open to the public noon to 4pm. The location of the Art Show will be in the high school cafetorium. The show is in it’s 12th year and the second time it has been hosted at Hillsboro High School. The last time it was hosted by HHS was in 2008. Everyone is invited to come see the wonderful art work that these students have created! Prepare to be impressed!

Hillsboro Middle School Eighth Grade Visits Washington D.C.
 
Eighth Grade Students from Hillsboro Middle School toured Washington DC and Gettysburg PA from April 8-10, 2015. Highlights from the trip included a tour of the US Capitol, a performance at Ford's Theater, a wreath ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and a tour at Gettysburg. Also, students visited The Korean Memorial, The Vietnam Memorial, The FDR Memorial, The WWII Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial, The Martin Luther King Memorial, The Smithsonian of Air and Space, and other sites and attractions.

National Honor Society Induction Held

Hillsboro Middle School National Junior Honor Society held  induction on Thursday February 12, 2015. Forty-three 7th and 8th graders joined the twenty-nine 8th grade members that were inducted last year. This year Ms. Pam Limes was our featured speaker.

CCP (College Credit Plus) Meeting
CCP (College Credit Plus) Meeting
This meeting is mandatory for any student in grades 6 through 11 this school year who wishes to participate in taking college courses next school year.  This meeting is for both students and parents although students are not required to attend.  The meeting is February 10th at 6:30 PM at Hillsboro Elementary School
If you cannot attend this meeting the 2nd meeting will be February 26th at 6:30 PM.  Attendance at one of the meetings is MANDATORY for participation in school year 15/16.  The CCP program is replacing the former program know as PSEO.
