For these outstanding paintings, students received an in depth lesson on color mixing. To start out, students selected a magazine or calendar picture that they wanted to recreate. Next they cut a square out of the picture and glued it onto their paper. After that, they drew the rest of the picture on the paper. This gave them guidelines of where and what to paint. Once the drawing was finished students began mixing colors to match their magazine picture. If they created the perfect color, when walking by the painting, you didn't even notice the magazine picture right in the middle of it. They really did an outstanding job!
