Last year in Kindergarten, we learn that emotions are how you feel. So we practice how to draw happy, sad, mad, scared and create a self portrait. In first grade, we take emotions a step further by connecting them to color. For instance, yellow will represent happy, blue will represent sad, and red will represent mad. We review ways to draw the face so that it fits each emotion by showing changes in the eye brows and mouth. The project is finished by using different mediums of the same color to create the emotion portrait.
