The Clay I class is an advanced art class. In this art class students will learn the three hand-building techniques and how to create pottery works on the potter's wheel. Students will apply the elements and principles of art learned in Art I and II to ceramics pieces created here. Idea development and research for project development will be a graded component of the course. These skills were introduced in Art I and II and will be used with every project. Included in the course are the development of the skills of time management and material and supply management. Students are expected to keep the clay room in clean, neat order and to regularly recycle clay.
Students must earn at least a C in both Art I and II to be admitted into the Clay I class.
