"Gifted" means students who perform or show potential for performing at remarkably high levels of accomplishment when compared to others of their age, experience or environment and who are identified under division (A), (B), (C), or (D) of section 3324.03 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Gifted and talented students need differentiated curriculum and support services in order to fully develop their abilities.  Gifted services are based on the student's area(s) of identification.  Students are provided gifted services in the classroom, by teachers who have had training in gifted service.  The goals of the program are for the students to learn through an advanced curriculum which will develop the strategies of inquiry, vocabulary study, higher level thinking and questioning.  Gifted services are during the regular school day.  The instruction may be provided in large groups, small groups, and/or individually in a variety of settings including, grade acceleration, early entrance, resource room, and cluster groupings.

Group assessments are given in grades two and four for academic, creative thinking and intelligence identification.

Visual Art/Drama/Dance identification is upon request by parent, teacher or student.

Parents, teachers or students may request testing for identification at any time by completing and returning the Permission for Assessment form located on the right-hand side of this webpage.
