Home Schooling

Parents or Guardians who wish to home school their children need to:
  1. Fill out the forms (found on our web site )
 
  1. Send the forms to:
   Home School Coordinator
   Hillsboro City Schools
   39 Willettsville Pike,
    Hillsboro, OH 45133
 
  1. If your child was home schooled the previous school year, they will need proof of an assessment given by a certificated teacher or have taken a standardized test or have taken the state OAA/OGT and attached the results with the home school paperwork.
 
  1. After the appropriate paper work is received by the school district, it will be reviewed by the home school coordinator and a formal letter of acceptance will be sent back to the parent.

District’s Responsibility
To provide required paperwork to the school district ;
To provide 900 hours or more of instruction to the child(ren) in the academic areas;
To provide educational instruction by a person who holds a high school diploma or higher education;
To provide the materials for the instruction.

To approve paperwork and offer
testing opportunities (OAA and OGT) to the students.
