HHS Students Place at FAC Art Show

On Saturday April, 13 several Hillsboro HS art students competed in the annual FAC Art Show at Miami Trace High School.  Art works that placed are on display in art display cases by the cafeteria in the high school. Congratulations to these fine artists!
Winners include:
Hope M. - Cherry  - Painting, 3rd place
Jaeleigh H. - The Ocean - Block Print, 3rd place
Logan T. - Shark Coil Pot -Ceramics, 3rd place
Skylar J. - Birdhouse - Ceramics, 2nd place
Logan T. - Birdhouse - Ceramics, 1st place
Jason L. - Bowl of Chili - Painting, Reserve Best in Show

Hillsboro Baseball Hosts Little Hearts Big Smiles Classic

On Saturday, April 13, the Hillsboro baseball program hosted the Little Hearts, Big Smiles Baseball Classic which was played at the Chillicothe Paints Stadium. Teams that participated were:
Whiteoak vs East Clinton
Fairfield vs Adena
McClain vs Clinton-Massie
Hillsboro vs Wilmington

Thank you to all those that participated as over $1,200 was raised for the organization that supports families with special needs children in Southwest Ohio.

National Honor Society Presents "Pennies for Patients" Donation

From February 4th - 15th, students in the HHS National Honor Society collected donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's program "Pennies for Patients."  In cooperation with the staff and students at HHS, along with several local businesses, NHS was able to collect $1500.00 in donations!  The members of NHS would like to express their appreciation to all those that participated and supported the fundraiser.

HHS FFA Chapter Annual Spring Flower Sale

The Hillsboro FFA greenhouse class is having a Spring flower sale through May 10th. Students have been working hard growing flowers and vegetables since the beginning of January. The class started by planting seeds for bedding plants and vegetables. Then the greenhouse class also purchased plugs from a local greenhouse for hanging pots and planters. The students are learning about growing, planting, transplanting and fertilizing plants, as well as, about marketing and customer service. The class is selling petunias, marigolds, snapdragons, geraniums, and more. The Greenhouse at Hillsboro City Schools will be open 7:30 am - 2:30 pm Monday-Friday, or an appointment can be scheduled outside of school hours. Congratulations to HHS senior Deon B. for deciding to continue his education and athletic career at Thomas More University where he plans to study Education.

Red Ribbon Week Addresses Drug Free Living

Students at Hillsboro Elementary pledge to live drug free. Red ribbons signified their goal of staying away from drugs.
