Hillsboro FFA Chapter Visited by State Sentinel from State FFA Officer Team

On January 11, the 2018-2019 State Sentinel from the state FFA officer team, Mallary Caudill, held a workshop for members of the Hillsboro FFA Chapter. Mallary spent time talking to students about being a great influence, reaching goals, and getting past obstacles. She had teamwork activities for kids to work on together.

Business Class Visits PAS Technologies

On Thursday, February 7, the high school business class visited with Maurice Condon. Maurice is the Director of Operations at PAS Technologies. Students took a tour of the facility to seek and understand the day to day operations of the business. Maurice also talked about what he looks for when hiring new employees which includes a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

HMS/HHS Students Visit Classic's Diner Before Cheering on the Wildcats

Students in Mrs. Davis', Mrs. Harp's, Mrs. Howland's and Mr. Miller's classes went to 62 Classic's Diner for lunch yesterday before traveling to the YMCA to cheer on the Highland County Wildcats basketball team. Some of the students participated in the basketball game as well.

Two Hillsboro Students Complete Boys Basketball Shot Club Challenge

Two Hillsboro students completed the boys basketball shot club challenge over the summer. Student athletes were encouraged by the boys basketball coaching staff to take and track 10,000 basketball shots over the summer. Dylan D. and Tate D. completed the challenge and were recognized on February 5th. Congratulations!

Hillsboro Athletic Boosters Present to Athletic Department

The Hillsboro Athletic Boosters presented a $10,000 check to the athletic department on February 5. The donation was made possible because of all the tremendous support that comes form the community during middle and high school athletic events. Every visit to a sporting event and concession stand benefits the athletic boosters and, in turn, Hillsboro student athletes.

HMS/HHS Robotics Teams Compete

The HMS & HHS robotics teams competed in Milford this past weekend. The middle school team consisting of Abigail K., Evan F., Nick T., Kyah C., and Will H. won the Design Award and earned an invitation to the state competition. For the high school teams, Squad D ranked 5th & Squad A ranked 8th at the end of qualifiers. They teamed together in the elimination round. They won their first and lost their semi-final match to the winner of the tournament.

Boys & Girls Bowling Teams win FAC Championship

Congratulations to the boys and girls bowling teams for winning the FAC league championship.

Enrollment Meeting for International Trip

On February 19 at 6:30 PM, there will be a recruitment/enrollment meeting in the high school cafeteria for the next international travel trip to Berlin, Prague and the Swiss Alps in June of 2020. Included in the itinerary will be a visit to Munich- Dachau concentration camp and Lichtenstein- Neuschwanstein Castle. The trip is open to Hillsboro students in grades 9-11. Vaccination Clinic for 6th and 11th graders

The Highland County Health Department will be providing 6th graders and 11th graders the opportunity to receive the required vaccinations at Hillsboro High School on March 21 from 8 am - 12 pm. For more information, click here.

Red Ribbon Week Addresses Drug Free Living

Students at Hillsboro Elementary pledge to live drug free. Red ribbons signified their goal of staying away from drugs.
