Welcome!

Welcome to the  Hillsboro Schools web site. Whether you are a student, parent, community member, prospective resident, district employee, first time or frequent visitor to our site; we hope you will find the site attractive, informative, and user friendly!

About the District:

With an enrollment of nearly 2,700 students, Hillsboro City School District is the largest of the five public schools systems in rural Highland County. The district boundaries encompass the city of Hillsboro (county seat of Highland County) as well as much of the surrounding rural area in central Highland County.

Our Mission:

To provide a well-rounded experience that prepares each student to be successful in life.

Our Vision:

The Hillsboro City School District is the best, most innovative educational experience where all students achieve excellence in a friendly and cooperative culture.

Our Educational Program:

Hillsboro City Schools' educational programs are focused on providing multiple avenues,  academic experiences, and academic supports to help EVERY child make his/her way to success in life. Our Curriculum is carefully planned to align with the State of Ohio Content Standards and Common Core Standards. At all grade levels, we take extreme care to asses each student's academic progress and provide "Tiers of Intervention" for students who are not meeting the academic standards.  We provide academic challenges for students that are above the standard.

In addition to the traditional high school curricula, Hillsboro High School offers extensive curricular options in Advanced Placement Courses, Post-Secondary Courses, and outstanding options in Vocational Agriculture and Fine Arts.

Extracurricular Programs:
Hillsboro City Schools offers many opportunities for our students.
